This is us raiding the adult archives again but it’s an interesting and cautionary tale. Back in autumn 2015, a tabloid published what was alleged to be leaked photos showing sex between the TV announced Yumi Makino and a man.

Her partner was allegedly the well-known (and married) pastry chef Morihide Yoshida, who has won awards and is a frequent face on television. He was identified by his distinctive haircut.

The scandal impacted Makino’s career. She left broadcasting in September last year, possibly as a result of work drying up after the scandal. The sex photos leaked in the weekly magazine Friday came out while she was trying to make it as a freelancer, following a stint at Shizuoka Asahi TV, and, though we do not believe they were granted an official response per se, have haunted her since.

Yoshida, though, is now based in Paris and presumably has faced no professional difficulties since the allegations emerged.

Makino might take some comfort that it is possible to make a comeback after such a scandal, as the case of Miku Natsume proves.

However, the ultimate lesson to take from all this is: Don’t take photos or videos of your sex sessions, especially if you’re working in the public eye.

It used to be that everyone abroad thought Japanese TV was wacky because of the big-budget, outlandish game and challenge shows.

But in fact, the craziest stuff these days tends to happen on non-terrestrial channels, especially late at night. The live octopus tentacle sex reenactment broadcast recently being a prominent example! And remember the hand job karaoke? We’re pretty sure the participants won’t forget it in a hurry!

Trust the online TV channel AbemaTV, which also likes to throw in nude sex scenes into its drama shows, to push the boundaries.

Its show Momoiro Game Channel recently featured Japanese adult video stars undergoing clitoral stimulation — all in the name of good, health entertainment.

The porn stars in question were the delightful Makoto Toda, Ayumi Kimito (aka Ayumi Kimino), and Rena Aoi.

One of the presenters had fun buzzing between one of the ladies’ legs with an electric toothbrush, using it like a denma massage vibe to bring her to orgasm.

Another AV idol spread her legs wide (and we mean, REALLY wide) and seemed to finger herself for the benefit of the camera looking down on her alluring body from above.

They also demonstrated bouncing up and down on a male presenter to show off their cowgirl position forte.

They were unfortunately clothed at the time, so what was on view was wild and weird if not actually explicit. However, later they were then practically nude as they showed us their best “hand bra” (tebura) poses.

Animals for breasts? And on men?

No, this isn’t some kind of hybrid human-animal sex fetish, or a transgender fantasy gone mad.

An (old) Japanese video explains the weight of different cup sizes with animals — and illustrates this by having men wear bras fitted with these animals inside glass cups. So a modest A-cup is only a pair of cockatiels but then, getting progressively bigger and heavier, a B-cup is a pair of guinea pigs, C-cup is hedgehogs (ouch!), D-cup is rabbits, and — most surreally — an E-Cup is cockerels!

And then to prove what it’s like for women to do exercise and activities with these things on their chests, the men start to demonstrate a range of sports, from running to boxing, and even tennis and volleyball. We’re not sure what animal right advocates have to say about this!

If this all sounds too bizarre to be true, it’s apparently an advertisement by lingerie maker Wacoal to promote its support bras. The hot woman presenting the whole sequence of events finishes the “experiment” by whipping off her lab coat to reveal her own sports bra.

We can’t find anything official from Wacoal about this, though the video is generating some online buzz right now. It is notable that the video was posted in English on LiveLeak, despite its Japanese source.

While the good folks at SoraNews 24 don’t seem to have thought of this, we suspected right away that the campaign might well be old and got taken down due to complains from animal rights activists. A little bit of online searching later and, sure enough, we found a report from summer 2017 saying pretty much just that.

The Japanese Interwebs is abuzz with speculation about the mysterious disappearance of up-and-coming adult video star Noa Takeuchi, who made her debut on Soft on Demand in September last year.

After releasing seven (by our count) videos, the D-cup “Lolita”-style performer has suddenly disappeared and her next release scheduled for February 25th canceled. Of course, women who make one-off debuts are not unusual, while the road to AV stardom is lined with the corpses of women who released a couple of videos but found no following.

But this is different. Takeuchi’s videos have really disappeared. They are no longer on sale — or even visible — on adult retail giant DMM’s website.

What happened?

Did she have a contract dispute with her AV production company? Or did she suddenly make a formal complaint of coercion?

This has rocked the porn industry in Japan. Long an open secret, women have finally started to come forward, supported by the courts, alleging they were coerced into performing in pornography. Some of those who have made these allegations have included established stars. It is the biggest scandal in the Japanese AV industry in recent memory and may lead to permanent changes in the system.

Given the Soviet-like way that Noa Takeuchi has been wiped off the digital slate, we can only assume that the powers that be are trying to cover their tracks ahead of possible legal trouble.

Last week we blogged about the upcoming adult video debut of former Aoyama Saint Hachamecha High School idol Yume Narai, who will release her first porn title through Soft on Demand in March as Kia Aoyama.

As is typical in these well-publicized debuts, Aoyama/Narai has posed for a full-frontal (known in Japan as a “hair nude”) photo shoot — and the results are so good we just had to share them with readers.

And now comes some shots from a new nude scene with the actress Fumi Nikaido (like Mitsushima, an Okinawa native).

The scene in question is from River’s Edge, a comedy directed by Isao Yukisada, who helmed one of the high-profile Roman Porno reboots in late 2016.

While we will have to wait until the film comes out on DVD for decent screen grabs, a few images taken on someone’s camera at a movie theater screening have already popped up online — such is the demand for this cutie’s fist nude scene.

Without wishing to sound arrogant, we usually reckon we have now seen pretty much every kind of adult toy Japan has to offer, but we still manage to find new formats.

Have you ever tried body stickers like these? We spotted two new body sticker products available from Tama Toys, and sold and shipped globally by Kanojo Toys.

The idea behind the Uterus Body Sticker is that you can experience nakadashi without any of the dangers: you can pull out and bukkake over your partner’s body as if coming deep inside her, though minus the risks that entails, of course. This is clearly aimed at Japanese man, who don’t like to use contraception but do like bukkake.

You put the sticker on the woman’s body, presumably trying to position it more or less where her actual womb is located. Then you just have to aim.

It’s also part of a rich canon of “womb”-themed fetish adult toys. (One of our favs was the Shikyu Kantsu Uterus Fornicator Onahole, now sadly sold out.)

We do wonder, though, if the image of a uterus might put some guys off. On the other hand, the Bitch Body Human Toilet Insults Sticker lets you transform your partner into a “human toilet,” a common word for a slut in Japanese slang.

Tokyo Weekender recently published a photo report from a visit to the Orient Industry showroom and an interview with the CEO, Hideo Tsuchiya.

As regular and loyal readers will know, Orient Industry is the leading sex doll manufacturer in Japan and whose luxury silicone companions are stunning.

Some love doll owners have rented out apartments for them, take them on dates, and develop an intimacy with the life-size figures that goes beyond simply the sexual surrogacy that genital parts made from soft elastomer allow.

Tokyo Weekender then spoke directly with Tsuchiya, who is now in his seventies and still going strong.

Here are some highlights from their conversation.

On average, how old are your customers?

Thirty years and older. We get some customers who are in their seventies and even in their eighties, if they still have their sexual energy. Really, the range in age is quite broad.

Where are the dolls made?

We have a factory in Okudo, about 30 minutes by train from the Ueno showroom. We have a staff of about 25 people who make the dolls.

What is it about the dolls that appeals to your customers?

Japanese people can be somewhat delicate, and simply, there are a lot of people who just aren’t very good with women. It seems like more and more men are having a hard time to develop relationships. And a doll doesn’t complain, and is quiet, and is easy to use.

Some of our customers have wives. Maybe they are living in sexless relationships. And once a couple stops having sex, it can be difficult to start again. Because men can be particularly sensitive — women can be quite tough when they say no! — rekindling the sexual relationship can be very difficult.

Is sex the only thing that your customers use the dolls for?

For some of our customers, it’s not just about sex… If a person lives alone, they might be lonely. And just having the doll there helps deal with those feelings of loneliness. Bit by bit, the customer starts to feel a kind of closeness to the doll. They might start to want to talk to it .. there’s a sentimental feeling that develops.

We were particularly intrigued by Tsuchiya’s suggestion that Orient Industry has considered adding voice features and robotic functions to its dolls. (We just wish they would bring back the Party Dolls series with wine-dispensing breasts!) And the reason they don’t offer a service making customized photos in the likeness of an actual human is eye-opening.

Of course, we paid our own visit to the Orient Industry showroom and factory way back in 2012. Perhaps it’s about time for us to return.

We stumbled upon a report of yet another survey that basically claims that many young Japanese no longer want romance in their lives.

One in four young Japanese people apparently claim that “love is a pain in the butt”.

Japanese matchmaking service Partner Agent recently polled a total of 1,960 men and women between the ages and 20 and 29 or 40 and 49. Among the questions asked were “Do you want to have a romantic relationship, or do you think that romance is an inconvenient pain?” Among the 20-29 demographic, 24.5 percent were of the latter opinion.

Almost half of the young adults, 47.5%, said that it’s best to just wait to naturally meet your eventual spouse, compared to 24.8%, who favored actively looking for a lifelong partner, and 27.6% who were undecided.

But if love is a pain to some of the respondents, at least it’s not particularly expensive. 40.1 percent of the young adult participants said they spend less than ¥10,000 (US$91) a month on dating expenses. That might be connected to the fact that 40.9% said they’d prioritize their personal time over spending time with a romantic partner, as opposed to 32.3% who said their lover comes first.

Money won’t buy you love, as they say, and ¥10,000 certainly won’t, that’s for sure. It’s barely enough for two cups of something in a coffee shop, followed by a couple of hours in a love hotel.

So, is neoliberalism the problem here? People have no money, so they find dating too much of a burden?

Of course, this survey only covers singles who respond to this kind of survey, and doesn’t mean people in Japan don’t have sex. Well, we get more than enough reports like that already. As those of us in the know are aware, there are plenty of ways to have sexual relations without “romance” — including some that aren’t a hassle at all.

The former AKB48 idol Natsumi Hirajima (Nacchan) has worked hard to establish herself as a solid gravure idol after leaving the group in 2012. And her efforts just got a boost with the release of a new photo book this month.

She actually left the group somewhat under the cloud of scandal, following the leak of photos on ex-member Rumi Yonezawa’s private Twitter account showing images of them with men.

In one, Nacchan is in a bar with a lucky (and horny) guy, who had her in the classic kabe-don pose. She nonetheless returned briefly in 2013 for one of the AKB “elections” to participate as a graduated member.

She has exploited her voluptuous and sensuous body (and F-cup bust) with provocative photo shoots that show off her curves.

But the 25-year-old is going one further with a new photo book, her second. “Natsumi-kan” was shot in Okinawa last November and shows Hirajima in the buff. So far only a few images are available, but they suggest that the photo book finally includes full nude shots of her butt. This is not full-frontal “hair nude” territory (yet), but it’s definitely a step up from her previous semi-nude shoots. Praise the Shinto gods!

Rumi Yonezawa, as we know, went on to add her name to the ranks of former AKB48 members who have done adult video. Will Natsumi Hirajima join her ex-colleagues?

Japan has been experiencing something of a “suppin” boom of late, where it has become popular for women to wear no makeup — or at least, to present a more natural look, as if they have not put on any makeup. Celebrities like Nozomi Sasaki have also shared images of themselves in “suppin” to demonstrate how amazing they look without the need for cosmetics. Paradoxically this has now led to women using cosmetic products to create the “suppin” look.

The suppin boom has spread to such an extent that “suppin cafes” have started to pop up in Japan. Basically these are like maid cafes or girls’ bars where you pay a premium for drinks in order to experience time talking with women servers, in this case specifically girls without makeup.

We were investigating this and found a handy photo report from a visit to a suppin cafe in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Naturalia is located very centrally on Dogenzaka. Inside there is a bar-style counter as well as small tables, where patrons can be served by and chat with female members of staff who are suppin.

From the pictures, it seems pretty low-key as an experience. Don’t go in expecting to be rewarded with a boner. And obviously you need to be a Japanese speaker to get the most of the time you get with the ladies.

There is a ¥500 surcharge, but this is free after you become a member. Otherwise the costs are not too extravagant: it’s all-you-can-drink for ¥400 per 10 minutes if you are a man (half price for women customers). There is some variation in the pricing depending on the time of day. But if a male customer drinks for an hour after 5pm, it comes to ¥2,400. Not too bad if you get a kick out of hanging with suppin ladies.

Naturalia now has branches in Shibuya, Sapporo and Osaka. Will this trend grow as big as maid cafes? Or is it destined to be another gimmick like the paisura “breast slash” cafe?

Can a glimpse at something be even more alluring than actually getting your hands on it?

The latest edition of the immensely successful “Futomomo” series of exhibitions has been cancelled amid allegations of underage models.

These exhibitions by the photographer Yuria have showcased Japanese female thighs in all manner of poses and settings, and have some 35,000 fans since the first event in July 2015. Last year there was even a spin-off cafe.

But the most recent exhibition, which was set to run at Ikebukuro Marui department store from March 9th to March 26th, has been cancelled over allegations that the models may be legally minors and that the photography was promoting the sexualization of underage women.

The exhibition in the northwest Tokyo district of Ikebukuro would have featured a total of 500 photographs (that’s 1,000 individual legs!), including new works, as well as various items of merchandise.

While no actual nudity is shown in the “Futomomo” series, the erotic nature of the photography made the risk too great. The exhibition was officially cancelled, it was announced on March 2nd, albeit without Marui specifying the exact reason. If it had gone ahead, the organizers and venues may have even faced arrest and charges of child pornography — an area increasingly facing crackdown in Japan, though local culture is still much more lenient than other in countries.

Yuria recruits young female models from the general public, whose faces are not shown, but apparently this latest iteration of the series attracted a lot of online criticism for appearing to portray underage girls. This is accentuated by the youthful look given to the legs and thighs by the swimsuits and school uniforms the models wear.

We predict photography and events like this will become harder to organize over the next couple of years as Tokyo prepares for the 2020 Olympics, and people become more and more sensitive towards social mores and the eyes of the world.

It’s been a while since we wrote about K-pop, but this isn’t just any Korean music group. In fact, it’s not even Korean at all. Honey Popcorn comprises entirely Japanese adult video idols — but who used to be music idols. Confused? Let us explain.

Moreover, the lineup includes one of the top names in Japanese porn right now: none other than former SKE48 idol Yua Mikami (Momona Kito).

The other two ladies in Honey Popcorn are Miko Matsuda and Moko Sakura. Those names may not be immediately familiar to readers, but their former professional monikers probably are.

Risako Okada is a former member of NMB48 who went into porn in 2017 under the performer name of Miko Matsuda.

Now known was Moko Sakura, Yu Ito used to be in part of the idol group Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome and then made the career shift to AV, also in 2017.

The trio of sexy stars will make their professional debut as a unit on March 14th at YES25 Live Hall in Seoul, South Korea.

Mikami made the announcement on her popular Instagram feed a few days ago in a bilingual (Japanese and Korean) post, swiftly attracting a storm of shares and comments.

So from music idol to adult video and then back to music idol, skipping a national border in the process!

We have no idea how long-lived this will prove, though we presume Yua Mikami, in particular, has a strong enough following in South Korea to merit trying a break back into music. No prizes for guessing, though, that the target fan is decidedly male and horny.

Besides a few publicity shots, there is little promotional material available at this stage, so we can’t comment on the quality of the music. Clearly the three ladies have experience in music and can sing to some extent. Will they sing in Korean or Japanese? How much flesh will be on display when they perform, given the penchant for female K-pop stars to reveal as much as legally possible in Korea and that these three have already shown us everything they have to offer?

We will have to wait until March 14th for their first release.

It should be noted that it is not the first time that AV actresses have tried to move into music. Several others have previously formed groups, not least me-me* with Kokomi Naruse, Shiori Kamisaki, and Yui Hatano, while Yuma Asami famously focused on her music after battling cancer.

Following the initial buzz, the adult implications for virtual reality in Japan have not yet quite lived up to the hype.

We were amused to see the recent demonstration by idol Kanna Hashimoto of a “4D goggles” where a robotic arm feeds the wearer a candy while watching Hashimoto do the same virtually. Otherwise there has been a lack of major new projects, unless they simply passed under our radar that was too clogged with AV and onaholes to notice.

But this is fun — and perhaps something that only the minds of Akihabara could have conceived. It’s a virtual reality experience of dining with a idol.

The VR Gohan (“virtual reality dinner”) is being offered through a dedicated VR headset called the IDEALENS K2+ that costs a whopping ¥86,400. It is only available at the Tsukumo VR store in Akihabara by reservation between March 1st and March 21st, at least for now.

The featured idols and cosplayers are Megumi Nishikiori, Kana R Norwich, Kururu Kurasaka, Run Hasegawa, and Runo Mizukawa.

You get a total of 50 minutes of VR dining (10 or 5 minutes per idol).

On March 31st and April 1st, the real-life idols will be on hand at Tsukumo VR store in Akihabara to personally hand over and sign VR Gohan headsets for the lucky (or foolish) men who make reservations.

We love it when a plan comes together.

So many adult video debuts go unnoticed and the lady struggles to the end of her short contract without fanfare, before, if she’s lucky, switching agency and professional name to try again under a new alias, or leaving the industry. Some, such as Noa Takeuchi recently, even disappear entirely.

A few, however, attract amazing buzz from the start. This often includes celebrities making much-trumpeted moves into porn, such as Miu Nakamura, Miyako Akane, and Mero Imai. But sometimes there are some beauties who get everyone excited

One such is Suzu Honjo, who has basically come out of nowhere but whose highly anticipated AV debut next month has already attracted 10,000 reservations (that’s a lot in an overcrowded industry where “bestsellers” are releases that sell just a few thousand).

To accompany her upcoming 240-minute release in April from SOD Star, the 21-year-old Honjo has stripped off for a lavish “hair nude” full-frontal nude shoot.

We’re fortunate to have got our hands on some scans and they are frankly stunning.

We reckon this young lady has a great career ahead of her.

For those readers who don’t have a Netflix subscription or missed the publicity, they may not have seen The Outsider, in which Jared Leto plays the titular character who becomes involved in the Yakuza in postwar Japan.

The lovely, innocent-looking Shioli Kutsuna (or Shiori Kutsuna) gets as close to actual nudity as she ever has (as far as we know). Incidentally, Kutsuna is a returnee, having grown up abroad, and speaks fluent English. Also, despite playing Leto’s local lover in the movie, she’s about half his age — which is sure to stir many a fortysomething gaijin’s fantasies.

Shioli Kutsuna has two nude sex scenes in The Outsider. All right, we’re being a little clickbaity and playing fast and loose with our choice of words. She’s only nude in spirit, so to speak: you see plenty of skin as she lies on the futon post-coital but only the barest hint (no pun intended) of a butt crack.

Here are the highlights, alluring in their subtle way.

Sadly, then, the sex scenes are not much to write home about, but we shouldn’t be surprised given how Kutsuna’s career has been largely built around her girl-next-door looks. Her agency wouldn’t want to spoil all that for some of Netflix’s gaijin cash.

Fear not, Kutsuna does display flesh — and what flesh it is: a naked back covered in tattoos, which we know can be super sexy on Japanese girls. Asuka Kishi showed us this last year, as did Anne Suzuki and Yuriko Yoshitaka in nude sex scenes some years ago.

The film itself has received terrible one-star reviews for perpetuating stereotypes about Japan and Hollywood’s white savior trope.

Late last year there was some controversy about a Japanese schoolgirl YouTuber who offered “free oppai” breast gropes to men in Shibuya.

Well, another Japanese schoolgirl went and did the same thing.

A 16-year-old schoolgirl wearing a bunny girl costume and carrying a sketchbook that said “Free Oppai” invited passersby in Hachiko in Shibuya to touch her breasts.

This time, though, it’s more serious, and police are cracking down in order to set an example. The anonymous schoolgirl’s case was sent to the prosecutors on March 12th, indicating she will be indicted and prosecuted. Given that she is legally a minor, her punishment should only be nominal but it should discourage further copycat incidents.

The girl — a high school first grader from Funabashi, Chiba — will be prosecuted for obscene actions in violation of Tokyo ordinances against disturbing the peace. She intended to film and post the footage online to make money from the advertising, according to media reports. (News flash: you need to get a lot of views to make any sort of real money.)

The incident took place on an evening in late January. In just a few minutes she was groped by around 20 men and women in Hachiko. It quickly attracted attention from the police substation in the plaza.

An 18-year-old male high schooler from Kanagawa and 23-year-old male company employee from Mitaka who both knew the girl and were filming the incident will also be prosecuted.
