Back in May we reported on the incredible story — actually one of the most intriguing things we have ever heard — of a chikan incident on a Wakayama train in which a woman was groped by two men who believed that the woman had asked them to do it via an online forum.

In fact, she had done no such thing and they had been set up. Her protests were more realistic than the two men expected and one got off the train. When the other man also attempted to leave at the end of the line, he was grabbed by the victim and arrested.

The 26-year-old from Osaka protested his innocence and the police soon started investigating what really happened.

Justice has now finally been served, it seems. An Osaka tax official has been arrested in Wakayama for posing as “Yui” on the forum and asking to be groped.

Yoji Isegawa, a senior official at the Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau’s Kainan office, began to sow the seeds of his plot. “Is there anyone willing to grope me?” is the message that “Yui” posted on April 23rd.

But the pièce de résistance was his victim. He saw a 23-year-old woman from Kinokawa, Wakayama, who would commute on the JR Wakayama Lane in the morning. He followed up by posting info on her appearance, where she sat on the train, and enthusiastic exhortations to come and grope “Yui”.

The 26-year-old man who was originally arrested had groped the woman’s thighs and stomach, but police later rightfully arrested him since he had been tricked into believing this was an elaborate but consensual act.

49-year-old Isegawa will likely get a light sentence but his disgrace — to include certain sacking from his job — are assured.

Photographer Yuji Susaki has got together with Akihabara idol unit Dempa Gumi.inc to create a photo book with 100 cosplay models.

We only just blogged about another Susaki cosplay photography project and it seems he is very much in the news these days.

The Dempa Gumi.inc girls are featured in student uniforms, nurse uniforms and more. The publishers hope to sell 5,000 copies in the first run.

While Dempa Gumi.inc may not have the profile of the ubiquitous AKB48, it has quite a cult following and they also performed in Paris at the Japan Expo this month.

Kajiwara ten bars employed girls as young as thirteen to “entertain” customers with their pouring and conversation. In Japan it is illegal to employ someone under twenty after 10 pm. However, depending on how it is presented, a girls’ bar is officially classified in the same category as adult establishments as hostess clubs and sex clubs, and so no girl under twenty would be allowed to work there.

Osaka’s girls’ bars, a city filled with all kinds of dubious establishments, are rather infamous. An eighteen-year-old barmaid died from alcohol poisoning at one bar in the city last year.

Shijonawate City in Osaka prefecture has punished two twenty-year-old firefighters with a six-month suspension.

What did they do wrong?

They appeared in a porn film.

Firefighters in Japan have a reputation for playing the field, earning good money and spending it on girls. These two clearly wanted to combine the two by getting some extra cash for making an appearance in an adult flick.

Apparently they were approached at Suma beach near Kobe in August last year by a scout. “You’ve got good bodies. Would you let us film you screwing some girls?”
