Malcolm Mask McLaren is a punk rock idol group in Japan with one of the most bizarre names there is. It originally formed in 2015 and the lineup fully disbanded in April 2023.

The group subsequently relaunched with an entirely new lineup of members in May 2023, but one former idol in the group, Mone, has decided to start a very different career: as a porn star.

Mone was a member of Malcolm Mask McLaren from March 2016 to September 2018, singing vocals on the first three singles as well as the eventual album at the end of 2016.

She is now making her adult video debut as Tomo Shiraiwa (白岩冬萌). Her first release came out digitally October 11 (and on physical formats on October 15) from Moodyz, a leading JAV label.

Other recent porn debuts by music idols include Ito Asahi and Karen Ishida. This is something of a trend at the moment for minor and underground music idols to move into porn.

Based on previews and promo materials, the 180-minute release (MIKR00001) seems to exploit her beautiful face, pale skin, and huge G-cup tits to the full. She looks gorgeous and those pool shots are making us long for the summer just as the temperatures are starting to drop in October.

We can’t find any reliable info on her age, but it’s clear that Tomo Shiraiwa’s face and body have matured since she left the group.

While we imagine the current Malcolm Mask McLaren management is less than pleased about their alum’s choice of second career, we are excited to see how things develop for Tomo Shiraiwa.

Yuki Mamiya is one of the most reliable actresses in Japan when it comes to nudity.

The star has spent a decade or so doing both nude shoots and nude sex scenes in movies, both low-budget sexploitation and more mainstream erotic films.

Examples include The Crawler in the Attic, Sweet Whip, Chotto Kawaii Iron Maiden (aka The Torture Club), and Wet Woman in the Wind.

She used to perform under the name Yuki Mogami and now apparently goes by Yuki Masuda, which is how she is credited for The Key – Professor’s Pleasure.

In the The Key, Mamiya plays the horny thirtysomething wife of a man in his forties who is unable to satisfy his wife’s sexual desires.

Mamiya has several nude scenes, all confined to a conventional bedroom setting. She has sex with both her older husband and a younger, more virile lover.

Mamiya/Masuda is still only 33 years old and we hope has many more years of acting in movies like this ahead of her. We have always found her lips and mole super sexy.

We could, if we were so willing, fill the digital pages of this blog solely with news about porn debuts. After all, incredible woman make incredible debuts in the JAV industry basically every week.

That would probably be as exhausting as it would be exhaustive, but we hope you’ll forgive us from indulging this temptation a bit, a mere two days after we reported on the porn debut of former Malcolm Mask McLaren idol mone as Tomo Shiraiwa.

Yui Sayama (佐山由依) debuts this week for E-Body in a 163-minute release (EBWH00168) directed by industry veteran Samoari.

Sakura has reacted with fury to these allegations, issuing the corrective and promising to consult with her agency about launching a lawsuit against the people who spread the rumors about her having AIDS.

The 31-year-old Sakura, who is also a novelist (four and counting, and one was adapted into a movie) and director, is one of the most famous JAV stars of the 2010s and still active in the industry, releasing several AV titles this year and a photo book.

Former porn star Yua Mikami has also reacted angrily to online criticism of her post-AV work with fashion brands.

For Mana Sakura, though, this is more than just a personal attack: a rumor that she has AIDS might seriously impact her professional reputation and opportunities in the AV industry, her sales, and thus her livelihood. Because of this, she might succeed if she did choose to pursue a lawsuit, though such defamation suits in Japan do not in general reward especially high levels of compensation. People pursue such litigation out of principle rather than an expectation of financial reward.

Most porn stars disappear into obscurity when they retire. A few of the very prominent performers maintain a degree of fame and fandom after they leaving the industry, but some have also experienced unpleasantry when they announced that they were starting a family. Sora/Sola Aoi is one of the most infamous examples of this, suffering online abuse for becoming a mother.

Japanese porn parodies are two a penny. Every few weeks seems to offer up yet another colorful AV parody of a franchise or real-life incident. We reported on the new Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End porn parody last week, for example.

But though at times inventive or even provocative, these parodies tend to have lowish production values and, let’s be honest, are basically a cash grab.

And so people have reacted with surprise at the high quality of the porn parody of My Dress-Up Darling (その着せ替え人形は恋をする), a manga, anime, and (since this month) TV drama on MBS, because the adult video seems actually the superior and more faithful version!

The AV parody came out in 2022 from Deep’s and stars Rika Aimi.

The MBS drama adaptation stars Riko Nagase and started showing on MBS from October 9.

The My Dress-Up Darling manga was written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda, and ran from 2018 to 2024. The first series of the anime version came out in 2021.

A young Chilean woman recently provoked a lot of ire in Japan when she posted a video of herself doing pull-ups on the gate of a Shinto shrine.

The influencer Marimar Pérez-Banus subsequently issued an apology and deleted the video, but we will probably not get the same from another young lady who posed semi-naked at a popular tourist attraction in Japan.

As netizens have discovered, there are actually lots of pics of foreigners doing silly things at places like Fushimi Inari, a Shinto shrine in Kyoto famous for its vast numbers of red torii gates that form labyrinthine corridors.

Here is especially provocative one.

While this particular pic does not seem recent, people on social media have now found it and accused the woman of disrespect. The woman is posing under shrine gates with her top unzipped to show off her (impressive) cleavage underneath with no bra on.

The woman is, as far as we can tell, Chinese (from Hong Kong) and an OnlyFans model called KK sluttttt (she posts on OF as Staykkation or againkk). She obviously posted the pic to get attention — and has now succeeded, but a lot of the attention is unfortunately from outraged Japanese nationalists rather than horny subscribers.

Others might counter that there is no actual nudity in the pic and it wouldn’t qualify as public indecency. Besides, compared to the Austrian who chose a Shinto shrine for an outdoor tryst, KK sluttttt’s actions are quite tame!

We think the location is Fushimi Inari in Kyoto because of the number of gates, though we can’t be sure (the donors marked on the shrine gates that we can identify by zooming in are actually Tokyo addresses, though this doesn’t preclude Fushimi Inari).

We did some research, purely (of course!) for the sake of finding out more about this young lady and improving the veracity of our article. We found some even more provocative pics online, hinting at the kind of exciting content she posts on OF for her followers. Unfortunately, her face is always censored.

Yamagata Education Board announced on October 17 that it had suspended a foreign assistant language teacher for six months for taking photos up girls’ skirts in Tokyo.

The unnamed man in his thirties works at high schools in the prefecture.

The teacher is accused of using his phone to take pics up women’s skirts on escalators in Tokyo Station and a mall on a trip to the capital last month. At the mall, another woman realized and alerted a security guard, who was able to apprehend the foreign and call police.

He was taken for questioning by Tokyo police, who then told his workplace.

“I let my guard down while relaxing on vacation,” the man allegedly told the education board to explain his actions.

Media reports do not specify if the man, whose nationality was not disclosed, was ultimately arrested and charged by police in Tokyo, or just let off with a warning.

Upskirting (panchira) is a big issue in Japan, like many places, and young women in skirts and dresses sometimes place their backs behind their legs to prevent people from seeing or taking pics of their under their clothes when riding up an escalator.

A whole cottage industry of porn, photography, and even illustrations exists to satisfy people with an upskirting fetish, which is surely better than doing it themselves and getting arrested, especially since voyeurism is now criminalized in Japan.

The board also announced it has suspended or warned two male elementary school teachers for, respectively, sexual harassment of their colleagues and using physical force to punish a child.

One of the teachers, a man in his twenties, had hugged a female coworker while they waited for a car to pick them up after they went out drinking with others in June. This merited as harassment and a one-month suspension.

The other teacher is a man in his fifties who pushed a child during an earthquake drill in April, and had also shouted at the child in an inappropriately loud voice.

Another day, another news story about Okubo Park prostitution as the moral panic over street walkers in the area and Kabukicho host club debt and addiction continues.

The latest tale of woe is the arrest of a 53-year-old man, Atsuhiro Kodama, on child prostitution charges on October 18, after he took a 16-year-old high schooler he picked up in Okubo Park to a nearby love hotel.

To pay for her obsession with male underground idols (chika idol), she apparently starting doing papakatsu (sugar daddy compensated dating). Someone on social media told her that you can earn a lot of money doing that in Okubo Park.

She began going to the park in September and has slept with several men since. She would go three times a week, having sex with three men a day on average. It meant she could earn ¥700,000 in a month, almost all of which she used to for oshikatsu (supporting her favorite idol).

She allegedly told the man her real age, though sharp-eyed readers will note that 16 is the national age of consent in Japan, so even we don’t fully understand why Kodama has been detained on a child prostitution charge. Is this a gap in the law? It seems that having sex with someone under 18 can still lead to prosecution under the child prostitution law.

According to police, Kodama approached the unnamed girl on the afternoon of October 15. He gave her ¥20,000 in cash and they went to a Kabukicho love hotel. (Giving her the money up front seems like a bad idea, given the recent news about scammers operating in Okubo Park.)

This was observed by two cops patrolling Okubo Park in an effort to tackle streetwalking. When Kodama came out of the hotel, they questioned him and this led to his arrest.

In what is surely not mere happenstance, the tabloid magazine Friday had a cameraman in the vicinity and captured the moment Kodama was being transported by car to a police station. He looks like he’s still in a state of shock.

Kodama has admitted part of the charges: namely, that he gave the girl the money but didn’t know she was under 18. We wonder how the police will be able to prove that he knew — or perhaps this won’t matter to prosecutors who want to pursue the case and set an example that might deter others from making the trip to Okubo Park. The media reporting of the case, in which the tabloids and police are clearly working symbiotically, is part of this strategy.

Friday finishes its report with an anonymous comment from a reporter claiming that underage prostitution is increasing in Kabukicho due to illegal male idol groups and host clubs, which ply the young girls with expensive alcohol and demands to buy oshikatsu items. They apparently manipulate the vulnerable girls by telling them that they can’t meet unless the girls order something beyond their means, with the result that they turn to papakatsu or prostitution.

Though it mentions this is the first such case of a male customer being arrested on prostitution charges in Okubo Park, Friday urges police to tackle the causes driving this surge in young streetwalkers by stamping out the male chika idols and host clubs engaged in illegal business practices.

We recently wrote about what we think is Kei Fubuki’s first sex scene, which was very welcome in some ways, but disappointing in others (no nipples on display).

She continues to branch out into acting but Fubuki remains best known as a gravure idol. That said, she used to do a different job entirely.

As she reveals in an interview with the tabloid magazine Friday, she was once a flight attendant!

Fubuki explains that she moved to Tokyo at the age of 20 and worked as a flight attendant for three years. But this was during the pandemic, when things were not exactly great for airlines, and so she started doing part-time modeling to make more money.

That’s when she got the offer to do gravure. She often professes her dream to carve out a career like Eiko Koike, who she resembles. Koike is now one of the most famous celebrities in Japan, but she also started off in gravure. She kept this secret from her family — and her employer.

Just after she started doing gravure, Fubuki’s airline found out. The day before her next flight, she was suddenly transferred to the ground staff.

But she wasn’t fired. She was told to choose: continue down her path as a model or give it up and focus on her career as a flight attendant.

As we now know, she chose the former. But Fubuki professes gratitude in the interview for her time as a flight attendant, saying it shaped who she is today. “When I had resigned and the day came when I had to go and return my uniform, someone said to me: ‘It’s going to be hard but go for it. Remember, you are always welcome back here.'”

The 25-year-old made her debut in 2022 and released a print photo book the following year. She’s an example of a bakunyu (literally, “explosive breasts”) mega-boob gradol. Her breasts are supposedly a J cup, which are offset by a muscular stomach.

Fubuki’s interview in the November 1 issue of Friday is accompanied by a lavish photo shoot and three digital photo books (because you can’t have enough of a good thing). We’ve included some highlights in this post.

Yumichi (Yumi Kimura) is very much following in her older sister’s footsteps. She made her debut this February as a model in nuts, another gyaru magazine.

The Kimura girls, who come from Kanagawa, are biracial: their dad is Japanese and their mom is Filipina.

The Yukikopo-Yumichi shoot is pretty tame (especially by the older sister’s standards): just the two siblings embracing while dressed in slinky swimwear. There’s lot of tanned skin and dyed hair on display, and not an inch of body fat.

It also got us thinking of other gradol shimai (gravure sisters).

Examples we can think of include Tomoe and Mayumi Yamanaka, Yurina and Iroha Yanagi, Marina and Erika, and Sayaka and Akari Tomaru.

Of course, there’s the Michibata sisters, but they’ve never really worked as gravure idols, more as fashion models. Likewise for Yuka and Kiko Mizuhara.

As we write this, Japan is heading to the polls in an election that might see the ruling LDP lose its majority in the House of Representatives.

Of course, we’re less interested in the podgy faces of the LDP policos, most of whom should be off collecting their pensions by now instead of running the country, and more in the possible success of candidates like ex-gravure model Chisato Morishita, still a hottie at age 43 (and unmarried too).

She’s already failed once in her bid to win a seat. Will she succeed this time and brighten up the stale corridors of power with her slinky charms?

This time, there has been less fuss about wacky candidates pulling publicity stunts, perhaps because the controversy about the pornographic posters at the Tokyo gubernatorial election earlier this year, and the candidate who stripped off during her election broadcast.

One young woman on the campaign team for Masafumi Tabuchi, an unaffiliated candidate from Okayama running for a seat in Tokyo 26th district, certainly gets our vote.

We are very curious to know how she came to be on Tabuchi’s volunteer team and whether he knows about her line of work.

It makes a change from the usual kinds of pics she posts, like the one below.

The polls closed in Japan on Sunday and the votes are in, but the results are inconclusive: the Liberal Democratic Party has lost its House of Representatives majority for the first time in 15 years, but neither did any of the opposition parties win a majority. Things are now in flux as the LDP attempts to build a coalition so it can form a government.

One thing’s for sure, though: Japan’s new hottest politician is duly elected Chisato Morishita.

The 43-year-old singleton has succeeded in her second attempt at becoming a lawmaker, having previously lost in 2021.

The former race queen, gravure model, and occasional actress was a big name in the 2000s and attempted a comeback in the late 2010s, but these days has focused on her political aspirations and working as a university educator.

She won a seat for the LDP on the proportional representation vote in her constituency in Miyagi Prefecture (despite being from Nagoya). She moved to Ishinomaki three years ago to embark upon this second career while making ends meet as a Pilates trainer, golf teacher, and more.

It still feels strange to see her looking “respectable” in dark pantsuits instead of the more revealing attire she usually wore in her prior career, but this is her new uniform, so to speak, and she wears it well.

As she now wanders the corridors of power in Kasumigaseki, we imagine she’s going to get a lot of looks from her colleagues, who are mostly much older men.

Despite its staid reputation, the LDP’s nature as big tent party and position as the ruling party in Japan for almost all of the past decades means it attracts celebrities who want to move into politics. This includes attractive women who we might assume have other options, like former Speed singer Eriko Imai, who is a member of the House of Councillors, though her political career has been hit by scandal. How will Chisato Morishita’s career turn out?

On any other day, the only thing notable and newsworthy about Haruna Kojima’s meet-and-greet event in Shibuya last night to promote her new photo book would have been the appearance of fellow AKB48 alum Minami Takahashi, who turned up to get a copy of the book and say hello to Kojiharu (and perhaps get away from her smelly husband).

The former music idol and model, who still looks stunning at age 36 and is now a successful fashion entrepreneur, met with fans eager to get their hands on her newly released latest photo book — her first in nine years.

One fan, though, was eager to get his hands on the unmarried Haruna herself, who was wearing an elegant and revealing pink dress for the occasion. The foreign male wasn’t satisfied with just a handshake and tried to hug the model, sending them both crashing to the ground.

He was arrested at the scene, though we’re not sure if any charges will be brought that could hold up in court (Japanese prosecutors typically only pursue cases they are fully confident of winning). Kojiharu was not injured, though we expect she was more than a little ruffled (remember, two idols from AKB48 were once attacked by a crazed fan with a saw at a meet-and-greet event 10 years ago).

The man is apparently in his forties but his nationality has not been disclosed yet. The incident happened on the street in Shibuya at around 9 p.m., according to media reports, shortly after the meet-and-greet event was over and Kojima was leaving.

Former Morning Musume idol Maki Goto’s 2021 comeback seemed to go well. After a career break caused by marriage, kids, and a rumored affair, Goto returned with a nude photo book that showed off her slender body with plenty of buttocks and side boob on show.

Sales clearly made the efforts worthwhile for Goto and her publisher, because the mother of two is back.

Her latest photo book is called flos and is out on November 29. It’s celebrating her 25th anniversary in the entertainment industry.

Thousands, if not millions, of guys who grew up with a crush on Goto in the 2000s are eager to see what the older idol looks like today.

Goto is now 39 years old and still very beautiful. Sena Himekawa (姫川せな) is a gravure newbie, having released a couple of image videos this year, but this hasn’t stopped her from already making the leap right into the next stage of her career with a nude shoot included in the latest issue of Flash.

The shoot is nothing inventive or spectacular, mostly just Himekawa standing or lounging around to show off her naked body in a bedroom or bath. There’s no bush, but mainly because she’s obviously paipan (fully shaved) down there.

Himekawa has also released a new nude video (imaginatively titled All Nude) and digital photo book.

Himekawa is a 20-year-old model with a J-cup bust who made her debut in January. She was Miss Nice Body 2024, whatever that means.

Will a full-frontal shoot be next? Or even a porn crossover?!

Either way, this is a fantastic and very welcome semi-revival of the hair nude (full-frontal nude shoot) that was once a huge bestselling genre beloved by top celebrities, but has sadly almost disappeared, though models like Biru Otsuka, Yuka Someya, and Miho Machiyama continue to fly the flag.

Here’s a case that ticks all the boxes about the current moral panic.

A concafe (“concept cafe”) staffed by men in Kabukicho, Tokyo, is accused of exploiting vulnerable female customers.

Concafes can be innocuous themed cafes but are often staffed only by men, making them essentially a kind of host club (similar to how girls’ bars are like a cheap hostess club). The customers come for the fantasy created by theme (butlers, doctors, private boys’ boarding school students, etc.) and the men who work there.

At this one, 32-year-old Takuma Ono is alleged to have tried to force a 20-year-old female customer to appear in porn.

Ono and two other people from the concafe have been arrested by Tokyo police. (The concafes in the images are not related to the particular establishment targeted by police in this case.)

According to media reports on October 30, Ono wanted the woman to pay off her account at the concafe by taking an AV gig. He also allegedly tried to get her to do papakatsu compensated dating.

The woman had debts of ¥700,000, probably because the concafe had a “pay later” scheme similar to many host clubs.

One of the big reasons cited for the uptick in visible prostitution in places like Okubo Park, near Kabukicho, is the host club system of leaving vulnerable women in debt, which allows clubs to pimp out women.

Papakatsu is the latest buzzword for compensated dating and is also often done by women who have debts. It has also attracted its fair share of scammers.

After the coercion scandals in the adult video industry sparked a crackdown and controversial new law that has had a big impact on the porn business in Japan, attention has focused on AV performers’ rights and well-being. It’s certainly true that there are lots of small production companies that do not do due diligence when it comes to workers’ rights and many of the minor releases with “amateur” or uncredited performers may involve vulnerable women struggling to pay off debts.

A related moral panic currently surrounds the “delinquents” known as Toyoko kids who hang around in the main plaza in Kabukicho at night. Their ranks also include female runaways engaged in prostitution or compensated dating.

Most of us can only dream of dating a Japanese model. Usually, only actors, singers, sports players, or other male celebrities get to live out that fantasy. Recent examples include the boyfriends of hotties Risa Yukihira and Miyu Murashima.

So if you were lucky enough to be dating a Japanese fashion model or gravure idol, you’d be crazy to throw it away, right? Well, it happens. Perhaps after a while, you taken it for granted.

Gravure idol Sena Natsuki recently revealed on a late-night TV show that she was single again, having broken up with her boyfriend of five years.

She met him through a dating app (joining the likes of Chiharu Niiyama and Rina Hirata, who have all admitted to using dating apps), though one that didn’t require showing a photo on her profile.

The 28-year-old hooked up with her boyfriend through the app and they dated for five years, but ultimately broke up because she found out he was cheating on her — with women he was meeting through a dating app!

Personally, we can’t imagine what it must be like to sleep with Sena Natsuki, let alone have so much of a good thing that you’d cheat on her and risk losing it.

It reminds us of the case of actor Masaaki Nishino, who was once married to Hanako Takigawa but let her slip away, and then dated sultry model/actress Haruna Yabuki (Mari Abe), but cheated on her (she apparently came home and caught him in the act with a hostess).

Or the insanity that gorgeous actress Ayame Misaki was once married. Her ex-husband really fumbled.

Koki (sometimes weirdly stylized with a comma as Koki,) is a 21-year-old Japanese model who is making her first forays into acting.

Her actual name is Mitsuki Kimura. She is the daughter of famous Japanese singers Takuya Kimura and Shizuka Kudo.

As with a lot of celebrity’s children, she attended international school and can speak fluent English.

She has a role in the 2024 international film Touch filmed partly in Britain about an Icelandic man and his past relationship with a Japanese woman.

Koki plays the woman in 1960s flashbacks, which includes a brief sex scene.

As an early acting role, it’s a strikingly mature choice for Koki, who already enjoys fame in her home country because of her pedigree and doesn’t have to take her clothes off to get noticed.

That being said, there’s no actual nudity. The most you see is Koki’s naked back as she covers a picture of Jesus, and then a bit more suggested nudity as she sits in her lover’s lap and kisses him, slowly grinding.

Touch was released in some markets in July this year and received good reviews.

We already wrote about this story back in September but now the mainstream foreign media is starting to pick up the survey by the Japanese Association for Sex Education, which examines the rate of sex and other forms of intimacy among junior and senior high school students.

Perhaps prompted by the publication of the full version of the survey and new reports about it in the Japanese media, liberal bastion the Guardian recently ran an article bemoaning the falling numbers of male Japanese school students who had never kissed.

As noted in September, the survey results indicate that only one in five boys in high school have kissed, which is the lowest number since the first survey in 1974. The surveys are held every five years and more than 12,500 students were surveyed.

But these numbers are part of a long-term downward trend since a peak in 2005, when it seems kids in Japan were horny, confident, or both — with half of high schoolers claiming to have locked lips.

The numbers of students who had had sex is also declining (down to 12% of boys and 14.8% of girls).

Despite this being a longer-term trend, the association blamed the pandemic. “Limited contact with others during the coronavirus outbreak may have lowered the rate of sexual activity among junior and senior high school students,” it said.

On the other hand, masturbating is on the rise — possibly thanks to the better self-awareness through online information and easier access to porn or other forms of sexual content on a phone, which pretty much any high schooler (and probably junior high schooler) owns.

Yusuke Hayashi, a sociology professor at Musashi University quoted by the Mainichi Shimbun (and then the Guardian), agrees that the uptick in masturbation “may be due to increased exposure to [sexual imagery] in manga and other media, rather than as a substitute for interpersonal sexual behavior.”

Another sociologist, Tamaki Kawasaki, sounded alarm bells. “It shows that the trend is for people to move away from real, physical sexual activity, even at a time when it’s natural for them to be sexually active,” Kawasaki wrote in a column quoted by the Guardian.

“Instead, there is a stronger tendency for them to stay home and watch sexual content alone. If teens, who represent the country’s future, continue like this then it is hard to see any improvement in the declining birthrate.”

In fact, the shift away from physical intimacy is not unique to Japan and evident in many industrialized nations, including the United States and France. The pandemic and prevalence of screens (with access to porn, including extreme porn) are often blamed, but the increase in phones also means instant access to dating apps and opportunities to meet people. So what gives?

Economic problems are also another factor that isn’t discussed enough in Japan, with the media (especially the foreign media) reaching for easy narratives of strange sexless Japan drowning in a deluge of porn.

If younger people have no money, they can’t go on dates or out to clubs to hook up. And if this continues well into their twenties and thirties, they won’t be getting married and starting families either.
