Now for 2016 along comes @ZMD11S, who hasn’t simply drawn or planned a Tenga robot model: he (we are assuming he’s male) has built one!

Sadly it’s not an actual working robot but this is still one mighty impressive model. It’s a customized Gundam model, integrated with a Tenga.

Folk from the University of Hokkaido and Nagoya’s Chukyo University set out to find out if wearing a mask made you less attractive to the opposite sex.

Junichiro Kawahara, associate professor at Hokkaido University’s Graduate School of Letters, and Chukyo University psychology professor Yuki Miyazaki have released the preliminary results from their joint research project. In the study, the pair began by photographing 66 men and 66 women, all between the ages of 20 and 39. Each person was photographed twice, once wearing a white surgical mask, and once without. The pictures were then shown to two different groups of survey respondents (with 29 men and women looking at the women’s photos and 26 men and women looking at the men’s) who rated how attractive they thought the people in the photos were, on a scale from one to one hundred.

When the responses were compiled, Kawahara and Miyazaki found notably lower evaluations for the photos of people wearing masks. The average score for females without masks was 49.1, compared to 44.7 for those wearing masks. The gap was even more pronounced between the highest-ranking maskless and masked women, who respectively received 65.4 and 56.5 points.

While not as severe, similar disparities were observed among the evaluations of the male photos, for which the average maskless score was 41.7 versus the masked average of 39. The top-ranking maskless male earned 56.5 points, while the number-one masked man came away with just 51.6.

Well, we’re not sure about their findings. After all, what about the Japanese porn fetish for masked women? And idol groups like Kamen Joshi?

A court in Guangzhou’s Yuexiu District has said that Okamoto must stop using the label in its advertising, because the title of world’s thinnest condoms rightfully belongs to Aoni condoms, which are made by Guangzhou Daming United Rubber Products.

Okamoto was a victim of its own success. If you make enough of a fuss about a claim, invariably there is going to be someone who got there first. The booming numbers of tourists in Japan were bringing back hoards of Okamoto sheaths. Perhaps this got them noticed more when they were trying to push harder into the local market.

Daming, a company founded in 1992 that says it has sold 7 billion condoms, filed the lawsuit against Okamoto in September 2014, after the Guinness World Records verified in December 2013 that Daming’s Aoni condom was indeed the thinnest latex winner. The Aoni has an average thickness of 0.036mm, while Okamoto’s clocks in at 0.038mm, according to the Guinness World Records.

“We accept the decision and have no plans to appeal it,” an Okamoto spokesman said.

He said that the Japanese company actually started removing packages that said “the world’s thinnest” as soon as it found out about Daming’s Guinness verification, but some products had been accidentally left on store shelves.

The court has ordered Okamoto to pay a compensation of just one yuan to Daming, a request that Daming proposed in its lawsuit, indicating that the alleged violation likely had little impact on the Chinese company’s business.

A Daming spokeswoman said the company is satisfied with the result, because “it lets consumers know the truth.” She added that the lawsuit was an act to “purify the market and meet consumers’ right to know.”

“No amount of compensation can cover the negative impact they have caused for us,” the spokeswoman said.

There was already some discrepancy in Japan, with at one point both Okamoto and Sagami claiming to have produced the thinnest contraception.

Well, regardless of the court order — both Sagami and Okamoto’s condoms are under 0.01mm, which is thin enough for me!

Gaycation is a new series from Viceland, Vice’s TV channel, featuring Ellen Page and her friend traveling the world in search of gay stuff.

Episode 1 is Japan, especially Tokyo and Nichome.

Every now and then, Japan’s character artists create something truly awesome and original, and which captures the imagination of people around the world.

Take Calne Ca by Deino, an idol with a mechanized calcium skeleton (hence the “Ca” in the name). The character — a favorite of ambitious cosplayers — is derived from the Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku. Her name is pronounced Karune Shii-e.

According to the Vocaloid Wikia:

Her name comes from kara (骸) and ne (音), as well as CA (シーエ), the chemical symbol of calcium. This is due to Calne Ca being a mechanized skeleton with a skin or casing in the shape of Miku.

Produced by Tama Toys, the Calne Ca Onahole pays full tribute to this lady, complete with markings on her body for 骸 and the bug in her head that is meant to be her best friend.

This time it’s technically not a parody (a specialty of Tama Toys), since it’s made with Deino’s blessing. Rather than the obvious elements like her limbs and infamous mouth, the toy focuses on the “feel” of Calne Ca as a masturbator sleeve.

Lured by adventure and easy money, these modern-day geisha find themselves caught up in the mizu shobai – the complex “floating water world” of Tokyo clubs and bars. Drawn by fast money, some women become consumed by the lavish lifestyle and forget why they came. One hostess calls it “losing the plot.” With a pulsating visual style, Tokyo Girls captures the raw energy of urban Japan and its fascination with the new.

It looks at their reasons for getting into hostessing, their culture shock when they first arrived, and the repercussions of their choice of work.

They also make the point that hostessing is “illegal”, though we’re not sure what this exactly means.
