Now 41 but still alluring as ever, Ryoko Shinohara has loosened her shirt buttons again to show off her bust for a new Triumph bra ad to hit the small screen in Japan in September.

Here is the revealing ad for the new “Tenshi no Bra” (Angel’s Bra).

Just when you thought the AKB franchise couldn’t get any bigger, along comes another sister group.

This is according to the AKB boss, Yasushi Akimoto, the 56-year-old honcho who the government wants to represent everything “Cool Japan” can offer to the foreign world. The veteran producer, who married one of his young idol charges a few decades ago, confirmed another 48 underage girls on the music industry.

There are already many other sister groups. SKE48 was the first and is based in Nagoya. NMB48 is in Osaka while HKT48 is in Fukuoka. Overseas there is JKT48 in Jakarta and SNH48 in Shanghai. Nogizaka46 is not an official sister group but is managed by the same agency.

The “adult AKB” sister group SDN48 (“Saturday night 48″) closed down in 2012. At an August fan event the producer explained that there had been a “grave breach of contract” and had been “dating fans”. Their fate? Banishment. The producer also revealed the names of the fans who had been having sex with the idols — perhaps hoping that the other fans would lynch them out of envy or anger that they caused the sacking of the popular girls.

And now they are being sued for over ¥8 million ($75,000) in damages.

Seriously, if this suit is successful we will despair. What about the human rights of the members? Not matter what the wording of the contract — which anyway can surely not legally bind someone to NOT have a relationship with another human being — there is no moral system on the planet which could condone the management’s actions.

The parents of the two girls actually signed the contracts so they are also named in the suit.

“The parents of the two signed a contract that said the members would not have relationships with fans and would not neglect their work,” said the management. “They have betrayed the rest of the group and all their fans, and we cannot forgive this.”

It can be hard to appeal to school kids, especially when you are trying to teach them a dry subject like mathematics.

So you can forgive someone when they resort to gimmicks to perk students’ interest. In the case of one publisher in Thailand, they used a picture of a hot woman on the cover of a textbook.

A civilian group has been formed for dealing with the problem of stalking among sex workers.

Following several high-profile murders, the issue of stalking by men in Japan has been big news recently.

The creation of SWASH in Osaka would be important in that respect alone but it’s actually aimed at helping protect the working environments of sex workers, which is very rare. Although prostitution per se is not illegal in Japan — only profiting from prostitution — it is nonetheless almost unheard of for sex workers to be acknowledged in this way.

However, prostitutes working in Japan’s fuzuoku (sex clubs, everything from a handjob or blow job parlor to a soapland or full-out brothel) are at risk of attracting stalkers and yet it is also much harder for them to press charges due to their profession. (It is rare to see prostitutes soliciting on the streets, though. Typically those that you can see, such as in Dogenzaka in Shibuya, are Chinese.)

According to the police, other people at risk include doctors and celebrities. Of the latter, Mitsu Dan and Nanao have suffered from stalker fans recently. There has been a increase of stalking cases of 53% since 2012, a jump of 1,103 cases. However, the actual number is likely much higher since sex workers will often not report stalking to the authorities.

Police say there were some 21,000 cases of “damage” caused by stalkers and some 49,000 cases of domestic violence in 2013. Both are new records for Japan. These issues are not going away.
