Okay, so that’s a provocative question but these are provocative films.
The Naked Continent is a series of Japanese porn films that feature JAV stars heading to Africa (“the dark continent”) to meet the natives and go savage.
A lot is made of the contrast between the pale, innocent-looking Japanese girl and the dark tribesmen and women she meets.
There are several films in the series, each starring a different girl. So far stars have included Yui Takashiro, Yuka Osawa and more.
Naturally she gets very acquainted with the men, discovering an inner, feral sexuality through their encounters with wild black men.
If it were white porn stars, the film would clearly be playing up to hackneyed motifs of civilized vs. savage that have turned a little sour in recent years. But since the ladies are Japanese — though very “white” looking — are they able to get away with the stereotyping?
Not that it matters whether the films are classifiable as “racist” or not, since ultimately it is all about the sex!
