That’s a question I devote considerable time each day to thinking about.
Well, luckily we have some hard data to back our speculations up.
Triumph, the underwear brand, has released some statistics on its bra sales and so we have some nice data on which cups sell most — and thus, can presumably infer on the proportion of breast sizes across the country.
Note, though that the numbers are for 2011, though we doubt that Japanese breasts have evolved so much in two years.
So, here we go.
A Cup: 8%
B Cup: 23.8%
C Cup: 26.7%
D Cup: 22%
E Cup: 12.8%
F Cup: 4.8%
G Cup: 1.5%
So the largest proportion is in the modest — but not micro — lower range of B, C and D cups.
It might surprise some of our readers, who are convinced that all Japanese girls are flat-chested (hinnyu or tsupeta). (And remember, proof seems to exist the local guys prefer girls with small breasts.)
Japanese porn star Aino Kishi is one such example, a cute and sexy JAV actress — but with a very small chest that in theory should be a hamper to her career. Not so. It’s her modesty combined with a liberated sexuality that guys like.
However, the cynics might just remark that Japanese cup sizes are fundamentally smaller than western equivalents (so the “B Cup” is actually more like an “A)… but we’ll leave the carping to others.
