Japanese condom advertising is often much more inventive than regular commercials, which typically rely on using ubiquitous celebrities rather than any imagination.
Contraception, on the other hand, employs everything from dinosaur sex to horror movies.
We stumbled upon this Durex condom commercial, which is actually from May 2015. Some people online were saying it was themed around the Kama Sutra (with some added wrestling spice) and had been “banned”.
It’s pretty awesome.
First off, it’s not “banned” but available for all the world to see. The official Durex upload on YouTube has close to a million views.
Secondly, these sex positions are actually from the Japanese equivalent of the Kama Sutra, the “48 Ways” (shijuuhatte).
The male performer is Tank Nagai, a real wrestler, while the lady is none other than the lovely Yuki Mamiya, who had a stunning nude scene in the recent The Crawler in the Attic.
Our favorite Japanese condoms are the Tenga Condoms, Okamoto Zero One 0.01mm Condoms (the world’s thinnest, unless you believe the Chinese), and Sagami Original 0.01 Condoms. And for fun times, there’s always these Gundam condoms.
Okay, now we’re waiting for the bell to signal our first round with Yuki Mamiya!
