Running until tomorrow (November 8th), if you’re in Tokyo and like your kawaii-bondage fetish art, then you should definitely check out this collaborative exhibition by Trevor Brown and Nanano at span art gallery. Admission is free.
Trevor Brown is a British artist based in Japan who explores various paraphilias and sexual subcultures in his work. His first exhibition in Japan was way back in 1995, so he’s something of an established force on the fetish scene. He calls his style “baby art”, which sounds like something illegal but actually is a “new artistic direction combining cute images of dolls etc with previously less innocent interests”. Common tropes include dolls and nurses.
Nanano is a model who often features in fetish art, such as the Kuchikaseya Moira exhibition last year.
The partnership has created some spectacular results.
If you manage to get to the Ginza gallery before the show ends, you’ll be in good company. The exhibition has already been attended by the AV star Yuri Momose.
