We’re suckers for any sort of cool and unusual adult photography project, so this was a no-brainer.
The Nakagin Capsule Tower in Ginza is one of the most famous pieces of architecture in Tokyo, especially overseas. Designed by Kisho Kurokawa, it is one of the few surviving applications of the much-exalted Metabolism postwar architecture movement.
Over the years we’ve read a lot of articles about Nakagin and its unusual concept for futuristic living in a capsule.
But this photographer set out to put an erotic spin on the architecture. As reported on LaundryGirl.jp, fashion photographer Kazan Yamamoto use the tower and its cramped capsule rooms as the site for an amazing adult shoot.
Yamamoto used 10 different capsules to photograph eight female models in various stages of undress, matching the beauty of the models with the beauty of the setting.
Futuristic Japanese architecture from the 1970s and naked Japanese chicks? We’re sold!
Unfortunately we’ve no information on who the alluring ladies are.
Yamamoto’s portraits were recently shown at Gallery NIW from August 25th to August 28th, and he has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for publishing a photo book featuring the series.
And if it all sorts a bit in bad taste, be assured that Yamamoto is doing it in part to promote the project to restore and preserve the tower, many of whose capsules have fallen badly into disrepair.
